what it is
crepcheck is a sneaker app: photograph a shoe and it tells you what it is, who designed it and the story behind it, then puts the pair on a rack you can turn in 3D.
- point it at a shoe
- crepcheck works out what kind of shoe it is before it names one, then hands back the model, the official colourway, the designer, the year, where it was made, and what it goes for new and on resale. when it isn't sure, it says so and lays out the pairs it might be.
- the story first, the price after
- every read carries the history: the tech in the shoe, the collab behind it, and what the culture did with it once it left the brief. the Samba began in 1949 as a football shoe for icy, hard ground; terrace casuals took it off the pitch, then skaters, then fashion.
- creprack, in 3D
- save it to a wall of shelves you can orbit in 3D, with your shot of every pair you own or want. crepcheck grades condition from the photo, deadstock to beat.
- crepbank
- off until you switch it on. it sets what you paid against what each pair is worth.
- syncs with åsecond
- åsecond is the studio's AI-native brain and data store. link crepcheck to it and the times you save to the rack join your Vitals there: when, never which pair. off until you link it.
for people who love shoes, and for anyone who just saw a pair go past and wants to know what it was.
how it differs
Google Lens
what Google Lens does well
free, in the Google app and in Chrome. point it at a shoe and it will usually find who makes it, what it costs and where to buy it.
where crepcheck differs
crepcheck reads one thing, sneakers, and leads with the story: designer, release, provenance, materials and what the culture did with the pair, which then stays on your rack. for a quick name and a shop link today, Lens is the faster pick.
Kicks Scan
what Kicks Scan does well
an iPhone sneaker scanner. snap a pair and it gives you the model, the colourway and its resale value, and saves it to a digital shelf. your first scan is free, then it's a weekly or yearly subscription.
where crepcheck differs
crepcheck puts the story first and the price second, and its shelf is 3D. it isn't open yet, so if you want a scanner on your phone today, Kicks Scan is there.
CheckCheck
what CheckCheck does well
authentication by people. upload photos of a pair and expert authenticators check every detail, then send back a result with a certificate of authenticity.
where crepcheck differs
crepcheck grades condition from a photo, but it doesn't authenticate. if you're about to buy or sell a pair and need proof it's real, use CheckCheck.
StockX
what StockX does well
the marketplace. buy, sell or bid on new and used pairs and follow market prices, with purchases backed by its buyer promise.
where crepcheck differs
crepcheck doesn't sell shoes. it tells you where a pair is sold, new and resale, and spends its words on what the shoe is. to buy or sell, go to StockX.
questions
what sneaker is this, and what's the story behind it?
that's the question crepcheck is built to answer. shoot the pair and it names the model and colourway, then tells you who designed it, when it came out, what's in it and why it mattered. crepcheck is in early access; until it opens to everyone, Google Lens will usually get you the name.
is there an app to catalogue my sneaker collection?
crepcheck's creprack is that: every pair you read goes on your shelf with its details and a condition grade, and crepbank, if you switch it on, tracks what you paid against what it's worth now. it isn't open yet. on iPhone today, Kicks Scan and SNKRAI both keep a collection with values.
is there a sneaker scanner app without a weekly subscription?
crepcheck isn't open yet, so it has no price at all today. Google Lens is free and will often name the model. the dedicated scanner apps we looked at charge by the week or the year: Kicks Scan, for one, listed $7.99 a week or $34.99 a year in the US App Store on 20 October 2026.
is there a 3D shelf to show off my sneaker collection?
the creprack is one: a wall of shelves you can orbit and turn, with your shot of each pair standing on it, and some known pairs loading as full 3D models. it is built, and in early access. write to the studio if you want to know more.
who designed this shoe?
crepcheck gives the designer or the design house with every read, and a line on the design story behind it. when it doesn't know, it leaves the name blank rather than invent one, and when it can't be sure of the model, it tells you and shows the likeliest alternatives instead of guessing. it isn't open yet.
